Carla Bretz

Carla Sue (Hickman) Bretz, 40, of Millersburg, died Tuesday October 4, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Phillip Hickman officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Carla was born January 13, 1971 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to John Hickman Jr. and Nellie Marie {Davis} Hickman.

Carla loved life to the fullest. She married the love of her life, Randy L. Bretz, on June 15, 1991. She loved spending time with her family, especially the young nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She also loved playing with her special dogs: Whitney Nicole and Babykins. Carla underwent a double lung transplant in 1998 through the Cleveland Clinic that gave her a second chance on life, which she lived to the fullest until she lost her short battle with cancer. Her family would like to thank Hospice of Wayne and Holmes County and a special thank you to the Cleveland Clinic for not only outstanding care but also for loving Carla as the beautiful woman she was.

Carla will be deeply missed by her husband Randy; sisters Mary (Cliff) Craft, Dottie Hickman, Angie (Doug) Schirm, Kay (Bob) Carpenter, brother Ivan (Michelle) Hickman, nieces; Mandi, Maetrie, Joanie, Kristina, Cindy-Rae, nephews; JR, Kevin, JD, Timmy, Justin, uncles; Paul Davis, Phillip Hickman, aunts; Alma McElfresh, Cheyrly Barthalow, Nancy Davis, Dorothy, Stepson Shane (Cristina) Bretz, step-grandchildren Caleb and Easton Bretz.
