Carol A. Tyson, 65, of Wooster, died Wednesday, October 05, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Wooster Community Hospital with her family by her side.

Carol was born October 15, 1945 in Akron to Paul and Ruth (Shaffer) Shepherd.
She was a 1963 graduate of Coventry High School in Akron. After graduation, she worked for the Polsky Company in downtown Akron.
She married Ken E. “Gene” Tyson on April 20, 1968.
He survives.
Carol was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
All of her children were the love of her life.
The love of her life was attending her daughters’ baton competitions, softball games, halftime shows and the many rides in Amish country as well as the grandchildren’s events.
Carol was a P.A.T. at Parkview Elementary School for 7 years and was involved in Brownies and Girl Scouts for many years.
She loved crafts, decorative eggs, painting, and ceramics.
Christmas was a special time in Carol’s life. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers.
Carol will be deeply missed by her husband Ken; children Kim (Tony) Sobchik II and Kelli (Jason) Ball all of Wooster; grandchildren Tony III, Andy, and Tyson Sobchik, Athena and Savannah Ball; great-grandson Caleb; sisters Nancy (Dave) Galley and Cathy Shepherd; special friends Karen Rowe and Nancy Stanford.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and good friend Sue Perry.
