Cecil A. Baughman, 78, of Lodi, was welcomed into heaven by his parents and a brother Robert, Wednesday May 10, 2006.
Services will be Saturday at 11:00 am at the Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth, with the Rev. Marta Mathatas and James McCurdy officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held. Friends may call Friday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He was born August 9, 1927 in Barberton to Clarence and Grace (Southwood) Baughman. He married Betty Haring on February 18, 1949. She survives.
He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Independence where he bore witness to the atomic bomb testing at the Bikini Islands. He retired in 1980 from Seiberling Tire after 33 years. He then worked at the College of Wooster for 10 years, retiring in 1990. He was an active member of the Lodi Ruritan Club, and a member of the West Salem United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Board of Harrisville Twp. Zoning and a 4-H advisor in Medina Co. for 23 years. He also was a member of the Old Manchester Alumni Association. He was a lifetime farmer and also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Ronald (Debbie) Baughman of Wadsworth, Gary (Karen) Baughman of Redondo Beach, California, Patti (Mark) Ritchey of Wooster, Dennis (Jane) Baughman of Lodi, James (Kathy) Baughman of Lodi, 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.
