Charles Parish

September 29, 1919 — December 31, 2007

Charles Lee Parish was called to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2007. He was born September 29, 1920 in Missouri to Hersie and Maggie (Newnam) Parish. He married the love of his life, Ruth Duncan on June 26, 1943. He served in the U.S. Army for three years as 1st Lt. in the South Pacific Theater, was a graduate of the University of Missouri in chemical engineering and retired from PPG as a production manager after 35 years of service. Charles was a Christian, a proud family man and a happy gardener. He was a member of Northside Christian Church and the Gideons. We are so proud to call him our father.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth, son Richard (Pat) Parish of Amite, LA, daughter Carolyn (Dennis) Kreider of Wadsworth, beloved granddaughters Christy (Paul) White, Kerry (G.K.) Parish-Philp, Julie (Rob) Smith and Jodie (Shawn) Welsh. The nine great-grandchildren who also benefit from his legacy are Lauren and Ryan White, Avery and Katherine Parish-Philp, Tyler, Hannah, Joshua and Caleb Smith and Brooke Welsh. His parents and a sister Laurna Parish preceded him in death.

Services will be Thursday at 12 noon at the Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Robin Hart officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 10-12 noon at the funeral home. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wadsworth Camp of the Gideons, Northside Christian Church or Golden Retrievers In Need rescue service.
