He was born in Wooster July 10, 1917 to Earl and Zula (Fisher) Stauffer and was a Wayne County resident all his life. ?He married Jennie Copus in 1943. ?He dairy farmed 53 years and drove school bus 30 years for Triway School District. ?He was a Foster Parent of Cuyahoga Company for 20 years. ?He was a Valley College 4-H advisor for 20 years and a Boy Scout troop leader a number of years. ?He was a member of the Wooster Foursquare Church and Victory Chapel Foursquare in Creston.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie and five children and their spouses, Charles Stauffer Jr, Phyllis (Doug) Jude, Charlotte (Gerald) Gable, Rebekah (Rich) Benninger, and Daniel ?(Rebecca) Stauffer all of Wooster, 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, as well as special sons Bill (Lupe) Norlin, Laz (Sharene) Marcze and Chris (Laurie) Kunkler, sisters Hazel Dennis, Dorothy Crist, brothers Richard (Beulah) Stauffer and Walter (Olive) Stauffer. ?
His parents, two sisters and three brothers, 2 brothers-in-law and a great grandchild died previously.
