Chester Carter

Chester Lee "Chet" Carter, 71, of Ashland, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at Metro Health in Cleveland.

Chet was born August 28, 1936 in Wooster, to Leland W. and Lura Irene (Wachtel) Carter. ?He married Dorothy Jean Arnold on February 12, 1970. ?She preceded him in death in July 2006.

Chet retired from L.A. Garber. ?He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and playing pool.

He will be deeply missed by his children Cindy Carter Yoho of Apple Creek, Denise Carter Wires of Wooster, Bobbie Donati of Pennsylvania, Mary Griffin of Orrville, and Larry Carter of Strongsville, his mother Lura Anderson of Wooster, 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother Donald Carter of Apple Creek, and sisters Marilyn Crawford of Georgia, Sandy (Alva) Burgett of Ashland.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and his father Leland.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 9 at 12 noon at Roberts Funeral Home -- Ashland Chapel, 1058 U.S. 250 West, Ashland with Pastor Todd Grover officiating. ?Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am to 12 noon prior the service at the funeral home. ?Urnment will follow at a later date at Ashland County Memorial Park. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com
