Dale Robert "Bob" Ridgway, 84, of Wooster, died Saturday April 12, 2008 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. ?Friends may call one hour prior to Services from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. O.J. Thompson officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Bob was born July 21, 1923 in Spencer, West Virginia to Merrill E. and Viola (Richardson) Ridgway. ?He graduated from Wooster High School in 1942, where he went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Bob married Barbara M. (Mann) Daugherty on April 19, 1986. She survives.
Bob enjoyed playing euchre. He was a member of American Legion Post 68 for 62 years and was also a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. He drove the school bus at Wooster City Schools for 33 years. He then drove for Ray Crow Cleaners for 22 years.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife; stepchildren Charla (Dan) Higbee of Michigan, Cheryl (Roger) Seitz of Coshocton, Charles (Ann) Daugherty of Copley, Charleton (Donna) Daugherty of Lattasburg; eleven step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; sister Luella Wertman; five nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Huey and step-daughter Cathy Hartman.
