Dewey Hinson

Dewey O. Hinson, 87, of Ashland, left this life Thursday, June 29, 2006, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dewey was a born-again Christian and member of the Mansfield Baptist Temple. He was born May 6, 1919, in Columbus County, N.C. He was the son of Sam and Allie Wright Hinson, who preceded him in death.
Dewey was a skilled painter. He was employed at General Motors for more than 29 years.
Dewey served the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully since the day of his salvation in areas of church ministry as teacher, deacon and telling others about Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie Belle Long Hinson, in 1994; three sons; three sisters and eight brothers.
He is survived by two daughters, Reba Lentz and husband John of Mansfield, Ohio, and Linda Pifer and husband Ed of Ashland, Ohio. Dewey is also survived by four grandchildren, John E. Lentz II and wife Tammy of Miamisburg, Ohio, Joe Lentz and wife Kelly of Hermitage, Tenn., Lisa Harned and husband Eric of Columbus, Ohio, and Bryan Pifer and wife Candice of Loveland, Ohio; 13 great-grandchildren, Erica, Breana, Brodrick, Elissa, Kaitlyn, Blaine and Nathaniel Lentz, Kyle and Kailey Harned, Drew, Hannah, Olivia and Jennifer Pifer.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2006, at Roberts Funeral Home, 1058 US 250 North, Ashland, with the Rev. Dale Adkins of Mansfield Baptist Temple officiating. Entombment will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home Monday.
