Dewey D. Prost, 58, of Shreve, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. ?Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Shaw officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster where military rites will be held. ?Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. Dewey was born December 27, 1947 in Ashland to Deloine and Donna {Pfouts} Prost. ?He married Cheryl Elliott on October 18, 1975. ?She survives. ?He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Dewey was an owner/operator truck driver. ?He was a lifetime member of the Shreve American Legion Post 67 and the NRA. ?He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and collecting die-cast cars and motorcycles.
Dewey will be deeply missed by his wife, sons Terrence (Katie) and Dustin Prost all of Shreve, grandchildren Mark, Madison and Dylan Prost; his mother Donna Battig of Smithville; brothers Tim Prost and Edward Battig II all of Smithville; sister Penny (Bob) Sprang of Blachleyville; extended family Opal Croskey and family of Shreve and Blanche Harding and family of Mt. Sterling, KY. Dewey will be missed by all of his family and friends.
His father, brother Dean Prost, and stepfather Ed Battig precede Dewey in death.
