Dick Kirk

September 3, 1927 — December 24, 2011

Dick M. Kirk, 84, longtime resident of Wooster, unexpectedly passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2011. He left behind four children, eight grand-children, and a sister. He lived a long, full and active life and will be sadly missed by all.



Dick was born in Findlay, OH on September 3, 1927 and married his childhood sweetheart, Jeanne Morrison, in 1948. They were blessed with 53 years together before Jeanne passed away in 2002.



Friends may call one-hour prior to the funeral services being held on Thursday, December 29, at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. He attended VMI in 1946 where he was drafted into the Air Force where he served for one year. He then graduated in 1951 with a Bachelors degree in Business from Babson Institute in Babson Park, Mass.



Dick and Jeanne settled in Wooster in 1962 where he founded Central Farm Supply, Inc. After nearly 50 years he retired in February of this year. He had been a member of Wooster United Methodist Church and Wooster Rotary Exchange Club. He and Jeanne were avid golfers and past members of Wooster Country Club.



Dick is being remembered by his daughters, Jane Fisher (Boulder, CO), and Bonnie Magers (Dalton, OH); sons, Stephen Kirk (Wilsonville, OR), and James Kirk (Wooster, OH); grandchildren, Travis, Trina, and Tyson Kirk (Jim); Carla and Jaime Daugherty (Bonnie); Ryan and Scott Kirk (Steve); Tess Fisher (Jane); and surviving sister, Rosemary Peters (Santa Barbara, CA).
