Don was born July 4, 1923 in Wooster, the only child to Ira J. and Freda (Brown) Fisher.He
was a graduate of Wooster High School and served with the 101
st
Airborne Division of the United States Army during World War II.He was dropped into Normandy, France during the D-day invasion, fought at Bastogne, France, during the Battle of the Bulge; and served occupational duty in the Philippines.He was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for this service and injuries received in combat.Following the War he returned to Wooster where he held various jobs.He retired in 1984 after working 31 years for the United States Postal Service.He was a member of the VFW Post #1081, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the 101

Airborne Division Association.
Don will be deeply missed by his daughters Linda Fisher of Columbus, Lori Fisher and Leanne Fisher both of Wooster and a granddaughter, Amanda Fisher also of Wooster.
His parents and a son, Robert Fisher preceded him in death.
