Donald Lewis Sr

Donald W. Lewis Sr., 87, ofWooster, died Friday, July 08, 2011 at the Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 3pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor John Castle officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Donald was born August 31, 1923 inAkron, Ohio to Wayne and Violet {Steele} Lewis. He married Peggy McConaha; she died in 1974. He then married Betty Sigler, who died in 2010. Donald was a retired a truck driver for Spector Redball Freight, then drove school bus for the Wooster City Schools. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose. Donald was an avid Cleveland Indians baseball fan.

Donald will be deeply missed by son Donald W. Lewis Jr. and his fiance’ Stacey Hofacker of Wooster, grandchildren Alecia (Gary) Pratt, Doug (Laurie) Connel, and Gary (Pam) Connel; great-grandchildren Justin, Dakota, and Caleb Pratt, Jacqueline and Samantha Connel, Heather Sheldon, Paul and Jasmine Connel; great-great-granddaughter Grace Sheldon; brother Larry Lewis of North Carolina and sister Donna Forrer ofRittman.

Donald was preceded in death by his wives Peggy and Betty, daughter Connie Connel, and brother Stanley Lewis.


Pallbearers will be Shawn Koval, Dan Pittman, John Hershberger, Mike Vandyne, Dan Sigler, Tim Leach, Gary Pratt, and Justin Pratt.
