Donald Mendenhall, Jr., 65, of Wooster, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Donald was born January 3, 1943 in Ashland to Donald E. and Freda W. (McCarty) Mendenhall Sr. ?He married Helen Ady on November 16, 1980.
Donald graduated from Ashland High School in 1961. ?After graduation he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4 years during the Vietnam conflict. ?Along with his wife, Helen, Donald owned Helen's Touch of Class. ?He enjoyed dealing in coins and jewelry.
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife Helen, his mother Freda (Arnold) Poland of Ashland, children Kevin Mendenhall of Ashland, Billy Mendenhall and Linda Gail Mendenhall both of Las Vegas, NV, brother Ralph (Teresa) Mendenhall of Ashland, and sister Terry (Bob) Knapik of Phoenix, AZ, step-sisters Debbie Kauffman and Midge Rinard both of Ashland, step-brothers David Poland of North Ridgeville, Mike Poland of Missouri, and Steve Poland of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Mendenhall, Sr., sister Cathy Mendenhall, and step-brother Harry Poland.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 25, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Ashland County Memorial Park, 1058 U.S. 250 West, Ashland with Rev. Paul Shallenburg officiating. ?Military rites will be observed. ?Roberts Funeral Home - Ashland Chapel is handling arrangements.
