Dona Marie Massaro (neé Graber) passed away May 6, 2011 at The Laurels of Massillon.She will be remembered for her strength of character, independence and passion for life.Dona enjoyed gardening, golfing, cooking and was a lifelong member of the Dalton Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years.She was a devoted and loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend.As a cancer survivor who was left with a less than ideal quality of life, she lived one day at a time and was able to enjoy seeing all but one of her grandchildren graduate from high school, some of them graduate from college, others enter college, the marriage of a granddaughter, and the birth of a brand new granddaughter,
She is survived by her three beautiful and talented children, Lorraine F. McFarren of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Stuart A. McFarren of Arlington, Virginia, Craig T. McFarren of Pace, Florida; daughters-in-law Connie S. and Tamara McFarren; grandchildren, Magen Y. and Arielle M. Jennings of Los Angeles, California, Daniel F. McFarren of Santa Cruz, California, Brandon C. McFarren of Pace, Florida, Stephen T. McFarren of Canton, Ohio, and Riley Joan McFarren of Arlington, Virginia.In addition, she is survived by her loving sisters, Carole Snyder and Marilyn Rossiter; nieces, Stacy Lugo, Leslie Long, Lynette Arner, Linda and Karen Massaro; nephews Damon Snyder, Marlon and Bradley Rossiter, John and Nick Massaro, and brothers-in-law Richard and Thomas Massaro; and many other relatives and friends.
Dona was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Roger J. Massaro, and her parents Opal and Floyd Graber.
There will be a Memorial Service/Celebration of Life at the Dalton Presbyterian Church, 163 West Main Street, Dalton, Ohio, on Saturday, May 28, 2011 starting at 10:30 am, with lunch to follow in the Fellowship Hall.The family requests that guests wear colorful clothing and that donations may be sent to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Green, OH 44685.
