Doris E. Deeter, 79, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2011.
She was born on December 8, 1931 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Jay B. and Evalene I. (Ream) Whipkey.
Doris and her husband, Paul Deeter, celebrated 60 years of marriage this year.They were wed on August 9, 1951.She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was a faithful member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Assembly.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Paul Deeter Jr. of Palm Springs, Ca. and Mark (Mary Jones) Deeter of Ashland; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jay B. (Doris) Whipkey Jr. and James Whipkey; and four sisters, Dolores Holland, Donna Henry, Drucilla (Phillip) Martz, and Deborah Speaks.
Doris was preceded in death by two children, Doris Paulette Deeter, who died at birth, and David Deeter who died in June 1985;and her parents.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Friday, December 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – Ashland Chapel, with Dr. Paul Tracy Sr. officiating. Interment will be at Eastlawn Memory Garden in Brunswick.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Pentecostal Assembly, 323 Steele Avenue, Ashland, OH 44805 or to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44805.
