Doris Shoenberger

Doris "Dodie" Shoenberger, 75, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord and the love of her life Saturday, October 14, 2006. ?She was a resident of the Good Shepherd Home. ?She was born February 2, 1931, in Ashland, to Herbert Eugene Sr. and Zadie Belle (Norris) Brothers. ?On July 15, 1950, she married Arthur E. Shoenberger Sr. who preceded her in death on November 18, 1969. ?

Dodie held many positions at Abbott Labs, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. ?Her hobby in life was total devotion to her children, grandchildren, and family.

She is survived by her sons Arthur E. Shoenberger Jr. of Jeromesville, and Roger (Kathy) Shoenberger of Ashland; daughter Susan (Edward) Staley of Ashland; brother James (Joyce) Brothers of Ashland; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws Thomas Kitchen and Edward (Eunice) Shoenberger; and sister-in-law Jane Shoenberger.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers William "Billy" Brothers, Robert Brothers, and Herbert Brothers, Jr.; and sisters Wilma Plank, Phyllis Brothers, and Lillian Kitchen.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland, with Rev. James Brothers officiating. ?Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. ?Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Good Shepherd Activities Department to be used on the Alzheimer's wing, to the Samaritan STAR Club to be used to decorate the housekeeper's lounge, or to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
