Eleanor Mary Herzog died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Wooster Community Hospital. ?A private service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Fr. Steven Moran of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating. ?Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Arrangements are being made by Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?

She was born on December 28, 1919 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph J. and Clara (Isler) Mansfield. ?She is survived by her husband Norman Herzog.

She was a retiree of The College of Wooster Student Health Services and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. ?She was in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and served at the air station at ElCentro, California.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 58 years are sons Curtis (Lisa) of Wooster, William (Terry) of Shawnee Hills and Craig of the home, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. ?

She was preceded in death by brother Victor, sisters Ruth, Alice and Lucille.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staffs of West View Manor, Wooster Community Hospital and Hospice of Wayne County for their excellent care and compassion.
