Ellen Louise Farren, 86, of Ashland and formerly of Clintonville, WV died Friday, April 29, 2011 at HospiceHouse.
Ellen was born November 17, 1924 in Cass, West Virginia to Cyrus Mert and Nettie Frances (Plyler) Harriger.
She married John William Farren Sr. on January 30, 1948 who preceded her in death in 2005.
Ellen was a homemaker.She attended Black River Church of the Brethren.She loved to read, gardening, cooking and canning.
Ellen will be deeply missed by her children; Ellen (Rodney) Riggs of Burbank, John (Mona) Farren Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marvin (Bonnie) Farren of Chatham, Brenda (William) Cover of Burbank, Joyce Elaine (Ronald) Cover of Ashland, and C. Wayne Farren of Rochester, New York, eighteen grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren, her sisters; Joyce (George) Jackson, Mildred (Denny) Kidd, and Nancy Wogan.
She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.Inurnment will be at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Rosewood Mausoleum, in Lewisburg, WVA.Online tributes may be made at
