Esther L. Ferris, 80, of West Salem, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at her daughter's residence. ?Services will be 4 PM Wednesday, August 2 at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with Pastor Delaine McGhee officiating. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Wayne County, 2525-A Back-Orrville Rd. She was born August 20, 1925 in Woodsfield, OH to Alfred and Odessa (Hunter) Davis. ?She retired as a custodian from Wooster High School in 1988 with 10 years of service.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Wooster, and enjoyed bird watching, gardening, sewing, reading, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are children Dianna J. Troutman of West Salem, Debra L. Ferris of West Salem; grandchildren Nancy Walker, Linda Troutman, Steven Troutman, and Jayson Troutman; great grandchildren Justin Walker and Stori Troutman; sisters Sarah Mae Parks of Ashland, Delores J. Jones of Woodsfield, Mary Evelyn Polen of Wooster, and Frances L. Molina of Wilcox, AZ.
Her parents, son-in-law James Troutman, six brothers, and two sisters died previously.
