Ethel Battig

Ethel M. Battig, 90, of West Salem died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at West View Manor in Wooster. Services will be Saturday at 1:00p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Rev. Chris Cottrel officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Ethel was born on September 8, 1919 in West Salem to Ray and Orpha Aukerman Harbaugh. She married Othmar Battig on December 12, 1934. He died in 1979. She was a homemaker and had attended The Aukerman Church of God where she played piano. She recently attended Congress Community Church. She liked gardening, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.


Ethel will be deeply missed by her children Marilyn (Stanton) Love of Westfield, Indiana and Leonard (Jane) Battig of Wakeman, Ohio, grandchildren Timothy Love, Ronald Love, Gregory (Lisa Stapp) Love, Jerald (Tina) Love, Pamela Battig and Thomas Battig.




Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Othmar.
