Fern R. Duncan, 85, of Millersburg passed away to be with our Lord, friends, family and late husband John P. Duncan, Monday, March 8, 2010. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00am at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Wooster, with Rev. Thomas Jones officiating, where entombment will follow. Fern was born April 25, 1924 in Fresno, California to Royal and Zenith (Taylor) Alexander.She married John P. Duncan on June 17, 1950.He died March 16, 2006.
She attended Rio Grande College and graduated from Ashland University with a degree in teaching.She taught at several schools throughout the area including Chester, Killbuck, Shreve, Triway Jr. High and finally Carroll Christian Academy in Maryland.She was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.She was a friend to all and loved her family dearly.She was involved in the Sweet Adelines, enjoyed playing the organ and watching sports.
Fern will be deeply missed by her four children David (Debbie), Leroy (Marie), Mark (Laura) and Jim (Sandy) as well as a brother Royal Alexander.She leaves her love with all her children, brother, nieces, nephews and many grandchildren and great-grandchilden as a gift to cherish and enjoy until we can share it with her again in heaven.
