Floyd Baker, 58, of Rittman went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 15, 1950 in Jerusalem, Ohio to Lewis and Irene (Hickman) Baker and was a life long resident of Rittman. He married the love of his life, Rhoda Carpenter on August 19, 1971. He retired from Apple Creek Developmental Center. Floyd enjoyed working on old cars and fishing and camping with his grandchildren.
Floyd will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 38 years, son Robert (Tiffini) Baker, daughter Stacey Holik and her boyfriend Steve, grandchildren Bobby and Todd Baker, Alicia and Thomas Holik all of Rittman, brothers Wayne (Linda) Baker, Clarence Baker, sisters Anna (Charlie) Bailey and Okel Baker, mother-in-law Nita Carpenter, brother-in-laws Jim (Judy) Carpenter, John Carpenter, Joe Carpenter and Lloyd Carpenter, sister-in-laws Judy (Danny) Jackson, Lynn (Bob) Stehler, Joyce Swartwalter, dearly loved pets Brandy and Gidget and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Leroy Carpenter, sisters Ruth, Fern, Mary, Doris and brother Guy.
