Floyd B. Winkler, 98, of Creston died Monday, June 05, 2006 at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. ?Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Rev. Gerry Burchett officiating. ?Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born November 28, 1907 in Gorin, Missouri to David and Mabel (Bertram) Winkler. ?He married Helen Garman on August 15, 1934. ?She died July 18, 1994.
He worked for PCA in Rittman for 42 years retiring in 1972 and was a farmer. ???He was a member of the Creston United Methodist Church and Canaan Grange. ?He enjoyed farming, ?traveling, and was secretary/treasurer of many bowling leagues.
Surviving are sons Melvin (Joan) Winkler of Melrose, Florida and Ross Winkler of Wooster, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a sister Annabelle Kratzer of Wadsworth and ??companion Eleanor Mellott of Creston.
In addition to his wife, his brother Roy Winkler died previously.
