Forrest “Frosty” Hochstetler, 94, of Rittman, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Autumnwood Nursing Home, in Rittman.
Forrest was born April 17, 1917 in Walnut Creek, to Clarence L. and Lizzie Ann {Sommers} Hochstetler.
He married the love of his life Margaret Youngen on June 12, 1943.
Forrest was a farmer till the mid 1940’s.He then worked for the PCA formerly the Ohio Box Board Company till he retired in the 1980’s. He attended First Baptist Church in Rittman. Forrest loved to Bowl, he was in many Bowling Leagues, and traveled through out the United States bowling. He bowled till he was 91 years old! He also enjoyed playing baseball and golf. Forrest and Margaret enjoyed participating in Flea Markets and auctions. He was a life member of Knights of Pythias. He enjoyed woodworking and creating glazed glass lampshades.
Forrest will be deeply missed by his wife of 68 years, Margaret; sister Maude Armbrust of Rittman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Floyd, Paul, Howard, and Clarence Jr.; sisters Ina Bunting, Opal Lower, and Mary Armbrust.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11am at the Roberts Funeral Home- Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating Friends may call one hour prior at the funeral home.Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
