Forrest L. "Frosty" Ray, Sr, 87, of Wadsworth died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. He was born February 14, 1919 in Huntington, West Virginia to William and Alice (Pollack) Ray. He attended Guyandott and Enslow schools and served in the US Navy during WWII. He moved to Wadsworth in 1959 and retired from Bearfoot Sole. He was a former member of American Legion and attended the Baptist Church while living in West Virginia.
Forrest will be deeply missed by daughters Betty (Richard) Gould of Wadsworth, Patricia (Irvin) Carter of Leesburg, Fla, sons Forrest (Gloria) Ray, Jr, of Ocala, Fla., Robert (Roberta) Ray of Newton Falls, Jerry Ray of Wadsworth, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, sister in law Violet Ray of Grant AL., and numerous nieces and nephews. ?Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers William and Warren (Donald) Ray and five sisters Lillian Pollack, Dorothy Ray, Frances Wheeler, Emma Chapman, and Ruth Maynard.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel in Wadsworth. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held.
