Gerald E. "Babby" Babcock, 80, of Wooster, died Thursday February 9, 2006 at Wooster Community Hospital. ?Private services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Rev. Gerald Compton officiating. ?Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Cremation will be handled by Remembrance Cremation Center. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com . ?

He was born April 27, 1925 in Licking Co. to Wilbur and Annabelle (Moran) Babcock. ?He married Jeanne Hodge on May 21, 1976. ?She survives.

He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. ?He worked for COFSCO for over 40 years. ?He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Ebenezer Masonic Lodge #33 and the Al Koran Shrine Club. ?He enjoyed golfing and watching sports.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children Gary (Penny) Babcock of Newark, Judy (Stan) Edwards of Logan and Greg (Mindi) Babcock of Frazeysburg, step-children Gary R. (Wilma) Hodge of Findley and Peggy (John) Ingalls of North Canton, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother Paul (Vernabelle) Babcock of Heath and special friends Jeff ?Smith, Jill (Sonny) Carmichael and Ron Burt.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother Jack Babcock and a sister Ruth Berry.
