Gerald “Jerry” William Gable, 64, of Wooster, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at his residence with his wife and grandson by his side.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.Private services will be held with Pastor John Copus officiating.Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Jerry was born April 22, 1947 in Wooster to Roy William and Estella Myrtle {Bott} Gable.He served in the US Army as an MP during the Vietnam War.
He married Charlotte Stauffer on August 11, 1967.She survives.
Jerry worked for Magni Power Co. for 34 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his best buddy, his grandson Chad.He liked working on cars, mowers, and gardening.Jerry was kindhearted, hard working, would do anything for anybody, and was loved by all who knew him.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife Charlotte; daughter Amy (Robert) Harper of Wooster; grandson Chad Harper; sisters Connie (Robert) Hart and Mary Catherine Rohr all of Wooster; sister-in-law Kim Gable of Seville; aunt Helen Joan Weber of West Salem, numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Richard Tanner, and brother David Gable.
