Gladys I. Pifer, 90, of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Liberty Retirement Center in Dayton, Ohio. Gladys was born October 17,1918 in Ashland, Ohio to Clifford and Minnie Hoover Fulk. She married Edwin L.Pifer on September 18, 1938. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gladys was a homemaker who enjoyed ceramics, sewing, gardening and refinishing old furniture. Gladys was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland. She will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Lee (Alexandra) Pifer of, Connecticut, Edwin L. (Linda) Pifer of Ashland, Dianne Kay (Larry) Boley of Dayton, and Steven C. (Kelly) Pifer of St. Cloud, Fla., 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, a sister Evelyn Brockway of Chardon, and a brother Clifford Fulk Jr. of Jeromesville, numerous nieces and nephews will also miss her. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Hazel Shriner, Francis Smith, Helen Thompson and a brother Raymond Fulk. Friends may call Thursday April 23, 2009 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel. 1058 U.S. 250 West, Ashland. Funeral service to follow, with Pastor John Hall officiating.
