Hallena J Krantz, 87, went to be with the Lord on January 23, at home in Ashland. Hallena was born December 3, 1922, in Myra, W. VA, to Orie and Myrtle Evans Sowards. Hallena attended School For the Deaf in Romney, W. Va. Hallena married Dana Krantz on August 15, 1942.
Hallena was employed as a seamstress and retired from Essex international in Cleveland. Hallena loved making her own clothes, preparing family meals, reading, gardening and the company of her friends and loved ones. Hallena was a member of Reimer Baptist Church
Her husband Dana preceded Hallena in death in 1992. Hallena will be deeply missed by her children Carl (Christine) of Ashland, Richard of Columbus and Jeanie Walters of Columbus, her grandchildren Eric (Nancy) Krantz, Larissa (JC) Haynes, Julienne Krantz, Darren Krantz, Dillon Krantz, and Desmona Krantz. Her great-grandchildren Dominick Krantz, Issac Haynes, Corinne Haynes, Simone Haynes, Elena Haynes, Noah McClintock, Kyle McClintock. And her brother Joseph G Sowards.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home – Ashland Chapel, Ashland, with calling hours from 1:00 pm to time of service, Pastor Butch White officiating.Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
