Harold E. Bender, “Bucky”, 72, of Wadsworth, passed away Saturday, January 8, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. He was born on June 17, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to Andrew and Virginia (Smith) Bender. He served in the U.S. Army as a medic and married Evelyn(Bodkins) in 1966. Harold had been an employee of Barefoot Sole which is now Goldsmith Engleton, Eagles 2117 of Wadsworth, and Moose Lodge 2070. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hiking.
Harold will be deeply missed by his wife, Evelyn, grandchild Duane Kenneth Bricker, brother Ernie Bender of Akron, sisters Barbara (Thomas) Jackson of Nyles and Elisabeth (Edward) Brown of Barberton and best friend Duane E. Bricker of Wadsworth.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O.
