"Colonel" Harold Layfield, 61, of Wooster died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at his residence.
Services will be Friday at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Rev. Robin Myers officiating. ??Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Colonel was born May 7, 1946 in Harrisville, West Virginia to Roy and Blanche (Rexroad) Layfield.
He worked for McCann's Plastics in Canton and for Monarch Plastics in Orrville. ?
Colonel enjoyed woodworking and loved the south.
He will be deeply missed by children Flint David (Lynn) Layfield of Wooster, Starla Miller and Ron McKinney of Brewster, grandchildren Tyler Peck, Kristen Layfield and Joey, Shawn and Paul Miller, brothers Paul Layfield of Salem, West Virginia and Fred (Barb) Layfield of Barberton, sisters Effie (James) Miller of New Martinsville, West Virginia and Ada Simmons of Brewster, special friends and neighbors at Peach Grove Trailer Court, his close friend Rick and Wanda, Brad and Rhonda, and friends at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County.
Colonel was preceded in death by his parents, son Hank David Layfield, sisters Sarah Groah, Leona "Sis" Lanham, Mary Smith and brothers Bernard and Lloyd Layfield.
