Herbert Gene Butler,76, of Spencer,WV, formerly of Orrville, Ohio went home to be with Our Lord and loved ones who have gone before him on January 25th,2011.He passed peacefully through heavens gate at his residence in his beloved West Virginia with his wife by his side.
Friends and family may call from 10-11 am at the Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel in Wooster, Ohio. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday January 29,2011 at 11 am at the funeral home.Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster, Ohio. “Herb” as he was known to his coworkers or "Gene" as he was known to friends and family was born October 18,1934 in Orma, WV to Perry Clinton and Dorothy Hope Butler.He was raised in the holler known as Big Run near Orma, WV, where he grew to be an adult under the blue skies and hillside shadows that he loved. Then as a young man he ventured into marriage to his beloved and devoted wife of 47 years Myrtle Marie Siers on December 31,1963.Together they journeyed to Orrville, Ohio to raise their family. He was employed as a welder with the Volvo company for 22 years, retiring in 1990.The time came for the hills of West Virginia to call them home and they moved back to retire and enjoy life in Spencer, WV.
The legacy he leaves behind carries on in his children and grandchildren.He loved the outdoors and spending time with his wife and four legged babies (his dogs),and being with the children at their horse activities.
He will be greatly missed by his wife and family.
He is survived by his son William J. (Cindy K) Butler of Rittman, Ohio; his daughter Anita S. Butler (Daniel L) Osburn of Rittman, Ohio;grandchildren Cheyenne N(Adam S) Hershberger, Dakota M Osburn, Ryan J. Osburn, Charlene M(Shawn E)Clark, Spencer P Butler great grandchildren Makenzie K. Hershberger, Landen M. Clark, Cayden L. Clark, Rogen D. Clark and others;sisters Margeret R. Yearian and Bessie B. Hall both of Spencer, WV.
Preceding him in death are his parents and 10 siblings.
