Howard Ely

Howard M. Ely, 74, of Wooster, died Wednesday November 4, 2009 at his residence.Funeral services will be Saturday at 3pm at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.


Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Internment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster where military rights will be held.Online tributes may be made at

Howard was born June 4, 1935 in Marietta to Howard Hayes and Glenna Evelyn {McNiece} Ely. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years and fought in the Korean War. He worked for The Gertenslager Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed music and spending time with friends and family. Howard will be missed by his children Cindy Lynn (Rick) Chidester of Marietta and Milton Ely of Fernandina Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a brother Monty (Edna) Ely of Barlow.
