Howard Clayton Wertz, 80, of Wooster died Wednesday February 13, 2008 at Wooster Community Hospital. ?Memorial services will be Friday at 2:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Rev. Howard was born January 4, 1928 in Wooster, Ohio to Howard F. and Mary Ellen (McAnaney) Wertz. ?He married Dorothy Iola Fath on February 26, 1949. ?He was a foreman at Gerstenslager Company in Wooster, retiring after 34 years of service. ?He enjoyed camping at Bucket Hill Campsite, fish frys at Salt Fork Lake and loved calling bingo. ?He was a member of The First Church of God.
Howard will be deeply missed by his wife, children David (Lola) Wertz of Orrville, James Wertz, Deb (Dave) Rowland and Lisa Grinder (Jerry Birkes) all of Wooster, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Sargeant.
