James Paul Philips, Jr, 85 of Deltona, Florida died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville. ?Services will be Friday at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Regis Sullivan officiating. ?Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held. ??Friends may call one hour prior to the service. ?Online tributes can be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?

James was born April 25, 1922 in Akron to James Paul and Minnie (Arens) Philips, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Piedmont.
He married Gerry Jacobs on July 10, 1965. ?
James owned Philips Electric for 10 years, then moved to Deltona, Florida in 1972 where he retired in 1984. ?He attended Deltona Alliance church and was a member of the American Legion Post 68, Wooster. ?He was an avid fisherman.
James will be deeply missed by his wife, daughter Janice (Buck) Hileman of Lake Helen, Florida, step-daughter Brenda (Jim) Harter of Fredericksburg and step-son Alvin (Wendy) Weirick of Wooster, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and sisters Florence Morrison of Norton, Bettie Eckman and Phyllis (Carl) Croskey ?all of Orrville.
