He was born August 26, 1926 in Geff, Illinois to Walter and Viola (Tilton) Shaffer. ?He married Betty Kearnes on March 26, 1948. ?She died December 23, 2002.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. ?He worked for Armstrong Drilling, then for Buckeye Protective Services retiring in 2004. ?He was a life member of the American Legion where he and his wife ran bingo for many years. ?He enjoyed bingo, working on cars and spending time with his family.
Surviving is a daughter Karen (Paul "Snook") Gleim, daughter-in-law Margaret "Peg" Shaffer all of Wooster, grandchildren James (Heather) Gleim, Michael (Crystal "Cracker")Gleim and Brian and Sara Shaffer all of Columbus and a great-grandson Alexander Paul Gleim, and a sister Mary Young-Hoffee of Fairfield, Illinois, and friends LaTonya Palmer of Mansfield, Liz Vinson of Massillon and Joey Roberts of Wooster. ??
