James was born February 5, 1957 in Wooster to Howard and Dorothy (Fath) Wertz. He graduated from Triway High School in 1975.James worked for the Gerstenslager Company and most recently for Jobs & Family Services.He enjoyed working with computers and camping at Salt Fork State Park.
Surviving are his mother of Wooster, sisters Lisa Grinder (Jerry Birkes) of Wooster, Deb (David) Rowland of Wooster and a brother Dave (Lola) Wertz of Orrville and his friend Meeko.
James was preceded in death by his father.
