James "Jim" Yoder, 71, formerly of Smithville, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville. ?Services will be 11 AM Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Ramsey Wallace officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. ?Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born June 20, 1935, in Wooster, to David C. and Bertha N. (Price) Yoder.
He graduated from Smithville High School and served in the U.S. Army. ?He worked for Buckeye Protective, Aid Security, and retired from Kauffman Tire.
Jim had attended Paradise Church of the Brethren. ?He was a member of the Wayne County React Club and enjoyed using his CB radio and listening to his scanner.
Surviving is a sister, Dorothy Yoder of Orrville; brother-in-law, Larry Patterson of Smithville; a nephew; and a niece.
His parents, brother Richard Yoder, and sister Shirley Patterson died previously.
