Jerry R. Birkes, 55, of Wooster passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 in Cambridge, Ohio.
Services will be Friday at 11:00am at Central Christian Church, 407 N. Market St., Wooster with Pastor Joel Engman officiating.
Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Jerry was born November 13, 1954 in Carmi, Illinois, the first of four children, to John and Doris (Schofield) Birkes. He lived most of his childhood in Illinois. His family moved to several locations in Ohio and West Virginia before settling in Wooster, Ohio. He finished high school in Wooster by attending the Joint Vocational School specializing in Data Processing, where he met his first wife, Linda Baughman. He later married Lisa (Grinder) Birkes on February 14, 2010. She survives.
Jerry was owner/operator of B & B Power Tongs for 31 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lisa are his children, Robert W. (Gretchen) Birkes of Ashland, Ohio, Barbara A. (Adam) Firebaugh of Watervliet, NY, and Chad J. (Erin) Birkes of Smithville, Ohio, the lights of his life 3 granddaughters Audrey and Katherine Birkes and Sophia Firebaugh and looking forward to the fourth grandchild in October, three sisters Janice (Rod) Ogden, Judy (Howard) Weinstein and Nancy (Brian) Copeland, and his first wife Linda (Baughman) Birkes. He was preceded in death by his parents.
