John C. "Jack" Riess, III, 71, of Medina died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Medina Village Retirement Community. ?Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth. ?Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St. Cleveland, OH 44119.
He was born April 27, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI to Oscar H. and Ruth (Rosencrans) Riess. ?He graduated from West Rockford, IL, High School in 1953. ?He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-56 and retired from Continental Airlines in 1999. ?He then worked at Goodyear in Medina and also served as a Medina City Police Department Special Officer. ?Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Al Koran Shrine.
He is survived by daughters Robin Kelley of Medina, Sharon Wilfert of Tempe, AZ, and son John Riess, IV of Lakewood; grandchildren Eryn (Nick) Churnega, Jenny Kelley, John Wilfert IV and Margaret & Anne Riess. ?
His parents and son-in-law Jim Kelley preceded him in death.
