John L. Walters, 82, of Ashland, passed away Saturday November 21, 2009, at Hospice of Ashland. John was born January 21, 1927, in Bellville Ohio to Father Bert Walters and Mother Pearl Walters.
He married Laura Jane (Humphrey) on December 21, 1952. They were going to be married 57 years on December 21, 2009.
John worked for Dominion Electric in Mansfield. He retired from Mansfield Sanitary in Perrysville. John was also a farmer most of his adult life, which he truly loved. He and his wife Laura enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets together.
John will be deeply missed by his wife Laura, Children: Janis (Gary) Hunter of Dennison, OH, Joyce (Roger) McDaniel of Winchester, VA, Jerri (Terry) Landers of Huntsville, AL, Jon Walters of Mansfield, OH; Grandchildren: Christina, Steven and Michael Walters, Janette (John) Verchot and Thomas Landers, Great-Grandchild Judah Verchot; Brother Bert Walters Jr. of Texas; Sister Pat Sunnucks of FL. John was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Monday, November 23, 2009 from 6:30-8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, November 24, 2009 one hour prior to the service at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11 A. M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com.
