Jonathan R. Byler, 77, of Orrville, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Smithville Western Care Center. ?Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Rev. He was born March 19, 1929, in Franklin Twp., Wayne Co., to Roman J. and Sarah J. (Chupp) Byler. ?He married Ruth A. Finn on July 27, 1956. ?She preceded him in death in 1998.
He served in the U.S. Army as a heavy equipment transporter during the Korean War. ?Mr. Byler worked for Strock Tire for many years and retired from BF Goodrich. ?He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.
He is survived by daughter Joyce (Dennis) Juersivich of Clinton and son David (Sherry) Byler of Orrville; granddaughter Amber (Michael) Moore of Wooster; sisters Ada Pearce of Wooster, Verna (Raymond) Miller and Ella (Dan) Miller, all of Holmesville, Anna (Levi) Yoder of Delaware, and Susie (Alvin) Schlabach of Maryland.
His parents; brothers Ervin and Ezra Byler; and sister Mary Miller are deceased.
