Joseph Hobzek

]Joseph “Joe” F. Hobzek, Jr., 90 of Hinckley passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 8, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph F. Sr. and Anna M. (Cermak) Hobzek. He married Leona “ Lee”Rell on July 13, 1946. Joe served in the Army Air Corp during WWII andwas employed by NASA as an Aerospace Mechanical Supervisor for 33 years retiring in 1976.He was a member of NASA golf league and an active member of The Brunswick Recreation Center Card Club. He was an active basketball referee for 58 years and a member and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Private Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in July. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 657 East Smith Road, Medina, Ohio 44256. Joe will be deeply missed by nephew Wm. Scott Derkin, nieces “Chi Chi” Nanette(Michael) Adams and Faith (Jim) Zanney, five great nieces and nephews; three great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Leona and a sister Anna Derkin.
