Joseph "Joe" E. Long, 81, of Wadsworth, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at Magnolia Care Center in Wadsworth. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Steven Carter officiating. Private burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday (today) from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. He was born August 17, 1925 in Wadsworth to Eugene and Rosa (Bender) Long. He married Dorothy Hall on December 6, 1966. She preceded him in death in 1995. He attended Wadsworth High School and had been an employee at the Red Bird Foodliner in Wadsworth for many years. He enjoyed driving his Farmall tractor.
He is survived by daughter Dora Long of Wadsworth, stepson Lewis (Kathy) Blevins of North Carolina, brother Jim (Mary Ellen) Long of Wadsworth, and hundreds of nieces and nephews.
His parents and five sisters preceded him in death.
