Joseph J. Strauss, 76, of Wooster, died November 1, 2006 at his residence after a long battle with bone cancer. ?Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster where military rites will be held. ?Private burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg. ?Friends may call Friday from 4-6pm and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He was born June 12, 1930 in Plant City, Florida to Fredrick N. and Lydia Lee Strauss. ?He married Lucille Wilson Bradley on July 4, 1981. ?She survives.
He served in the U. S. Air Force in the Panama Canal Zone. ?He was a plant manager for SPS Technologies for 38 years retiring in 1988. ?He was a member of the Knights Baptist Church in Plant City, Florida. ?He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed working with stained glass, woodworking and his computer.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters Joanne (Robert) Laurance of Hereford, Pennsylvania, Patricia (Michael) Greer of Belgium, stepchildren Diane Bradley Cox, Jerry Bradley, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren sisters Elizabeth Bourne of Maryville, Tennessee, Dorothy (Ogden) Bennett of Bradenton, Florida and brothers Hollis (Janice) Strauss of Lakeland, Florida and Avery (Alyce) Strauss of Franklin, North Carolina.
A brother Barney Strauss died previously.
