Lloyd A. Basinger, 82, of Dalton, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 11, 2007 ?surrounded by his family at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville. ?Friends may call Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel in Wooster. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:00am at Oak Grove Mennonite Church with Revs. Norma Duerksen, Terry Shue and Joel Short officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com . ?

Lloyd was born November 3, 1924 in Kidron to David and Ella (Zuercher) Basinger. ?He married Wilma Kolb on September 16, 1944. ?She died June 12, 1998. ?He then married Anne Nussbaum on June 20, 2001. ?She survives.
Lloyd was a farmer for 13 years, he then drove truck for Mason Dixon Trucking until his retirement in 1987 after his retirement. ?After his retirement, he worked for Mumaw potato farm for many years. ?He was a member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church and recently attended Kidron Mennonite Church. ?Lloyd was a lifetime member of the Kidron Community Historical Society and was a member of Teamsters Local 92. ?He enjoyed camping, reading, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lloyd will be deeply missed by his wife, children William Basinger of Wooster, Dean (Pam) Basinger of Smithville and Robert (Diana) Basinger of Wooster, Darwin (Kathie) Basinger of Omer, Michigan, Sharon (Leroy) Harper of Massillon and Shirley (John) Puskaric of North Port, Florida, step-children JoAnne (Barney) Frey of Wauseon, Ken (Marcia) Nussbaum of Orrville, ?Judy (Arlis) Kauffman of Wooster, Keith (Cindy) Nussbaum of Orrville, Karl (Sharon) Nussbaum of Dalton and Kurt (Donna) Nussbaum of Orrville, 10 grandchildren, ?21 step-grandchildren, 11great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren, brothers Dale (Evelyn) Basinger of Linville, Virginia, Orris (Lois) Basinger of Berling, Ohio, Clair (Katherine) Basinger of Harrisonburg, Virginia and sisters Elva (Paul) Hartzler of West Virginia and Lila
(Ed) Collins of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma.
