Margaret May McQuate, 81, of Ashland, died Monday morning, April 17, 2006, at Crystal Care Center of Ashland.
Born June 29, 1924, in Freeland, Pa., she was the daughter of Herbert Richard and Josephine Dubis Cheesman.
?After graduating from high school, she worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where she met her husband, Alvin McQuate, who was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. They were married Jan. 20, 1942. He died June 9, 1982.
?In later years, she worked at Faultless Rubber/Abbott Labs for more than 24 years, retiring in the late 1980s.
???Mrs. McQuate was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping and eating at Lyn-Way Restaurant.
?Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alvin McQuate Jr. and Randall and Bonnie McQuate, all of Ashland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Dale Weitzel of Ashland and Peggy and David Menser of Perrysville; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Joel Sholedice of Ashland.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Roberts Funeral Home, 1058 US 250 North, Ashland, with the Rev. Dan Bilkert officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park.
