Martha Beck, 84, of Wooster died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville. Private services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Fr. Steve Moran officiating. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

Martha was born November 15, 1923 in Montevideo, Uruguay. She lived in Westfield, New Jersey for over 35 years. She married Joseph Beck on November 15, 1950.
Martha was a member of the International Club and the Spanish Club, and the Women’s Club of Westfield. She was a adjunct professor at Union County College and she taught Spanish at the Westfield Adult School. Martha obtained a Masters in Modern Languages from Seton Hall.
She will be deeply missed by her children Martha (Peter) Philippon, Chris Beck and Andrew (Diane) Beck, grandchildren Michelle, Lisa and Jenn Philippon.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
