Martha L. Bobo, age 82, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2006 and formerly of Ashland, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at a Colorado Springs hospital.She was a homemaker.
Martha Louise Bernhardt was born on September 9, 1928 in Richland County, Ohio to the late Carl and Barbara Bernhardt.She was a 1946 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School.She married the love of her life, Walter W. Bobo on July 7, 1951 in Mansfield, Ohio.
She was very active with her husband in the United Auto Workers Local 549 Retirees Chapter where they coordinated the distribution of rocking chairs in hospitals throughout Ohio in the “Rocking Chair Love Program.” She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and raising her children.She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Savannah.
Martha is survived by her children: Warren (wife, Judy) Bobo of Grand Island, Florida; Linda (husband, Leonard) Bohanan of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David Bobo (and special friend, Sherrie Hartz) of Ashland, Ohio. She is also survived by three sisters: Wilma Gibson and Helen Hriesik of Mansfield; Shirley Bertka of Pinopolis, South Carolina and three brothers: Adam Bernhardt of Mansfield; Bill Bernhardt of Wildwood, Georgia and Fred Bernhardt of Cape Coral, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 2006; and by four brothers and five sisters.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, 1058 US 250 North, Ashland, Ohio with the Rev. Adam Davis, officiating.Burial will follow at the Ashland County Memorial Park. A reception will follow the services.
