Mary Alice Overfield, 87, of Wadsworth died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Akron City Hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth with Pastor Steve Carter officiating. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Alice was born August 22, 1920, in Cleveland to William and Mary Tarris. She married Layton Overfield in 1941. She worked at the Ohio Match Company during WWII then worked at Latex Industries in Seville for 11 years. Alice was a member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and making candy and ice cream.
Alice will be deeply missed by children Nancy (Russell) Brogan of Florida, Vicki (Neal) Miglore of Barberton. Cindy (Charles) Crislip of Wadsworth and Connie Overfield of Uniontown, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and best friend Naomi Grassell of Wadsworth. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, grandsons Timothy and Jason and great-granddaughter Latasha, and brothers Richard and Roger.
